Three Editions from The Folio Society Shortlisted for the 2016 V&A Illustration Awards
The Folio Society is proud to announce that three artists shortlisted for this year’s V&A Illustration Awards have been nominated for their work on Folio editions. The nominations come in two different categories – Book Illustration and Book Cover. The winners will be announced at an exclusive awards ceremony at the V&A on 23 May 2016.
- David McConochie has been nominated in the Book Cover category for his work on The Folio Book of Ghost Stories, a new collection from The Folio Society.
- Simon Pemberton has been nominated in the Book Cover category for his binding for Shackleton’s Boat Journey by Frank Worsley.
- Tim Laing has been nominated in the Book Illustration category for his work on The Radetzky March by Joseph Roth.
Sheri Gee, Art Director at The Folio Society was delighted by the news, saying: ‘I’m really thrilled for all three illustrators. Though their styles are so different, each did such a perfectly fitting job on their book, as confirmed by the panel’s recognition of their work. I couldn’t be happier for them.’
