Six editions from The Folio Society selected as finalists for the British Book Design & Production Awards 2019

The Folio Society is delighted to announce that six of their titles have been selected as finalists in five categories of the prestigious British Book Design & Production Awards. The limited edition Studies from Nature which presents five books illustrated by Japanese artist, Kitagawa Utamaro plus a commentary volume presented in a hand-made cloth-covered box is nominated in both the Limited Edition & Fine Binding and Best British Book categories.

The Folio Book of Children’s Poetry (illustrated by Leslie Barnes), John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men (illustrated by James Albon) and Roger Lancelyn Green’s Tales of the Greek Heroes (illustrated by Romy Blümel) have all been nominated in the Literature category.

The La Boca designed and illustrated Ubik by Philip K. Dick has been nominated in the Best Jacket/Cover Design category. The three volume set plus map of Captain James Cook’s The Journals 1768–1779 has been nominated in the Scholarly, Academic and Reference Books category.

The British Book Design & Production Awards is one of the most prestigious literary events in the world of publishing. The awards recognise and promote the excellence of the British book design and production industry by celebrating the best books of the year. The judges look for exceptional production and design, free of typographical errors, with particular emphasis given to excellent layout and standards of typography. The winners will be announced in London on 21st November 2019.
