The Folio Society wins two categories at the 2019 British Book Design & Production Awards
The Folio Society is delighted to announce that The Folio Book of Children’s Poetry (illustrated by Lesley Barnes) has won the Literature category and the La Boca-designed Ubik by Philip K. Dick has won the Best Jacket/Cover Design category in the 2019 British Book Design & Production Awards.
The judges said of The Folio Book of Children’s Poetry: ‘This book is a “must have” for every child’s bookshelf and provides a magnificent introduction to children’s poetry through effective design, especially when it comes to the colour palette chosen.’
The judges said of Ubik: ‘This book immediately stood out for the judges with its visually stunning, well-executed and unusual concept. It was thought-provoking and made you want to pick it up.’

Other Folio titles shortlisted were: Utamaros Studies from Nature in both the Limited Edition & Fine Binding and Best British Book categories; John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men (illustrated by James Albon) and Roger Lancelyn Green’s Tales of the Greek Heroes (illustrated by Romy Blümel) in the Literature category and the three-volume set with map of Captain James Cook’s Journals 1768–1779 in the Scholarly, Academic and Reference Books category.
